Marking almost five years of electronic music production, Shelter both continues and redefines Chris Howaniec's Materielle project. Still skillfully textured with bristling atmospherics, his fifth release strays further from the usual templates of dance and bass music, foraying into near-pop and exploring his vocal abilities. From the languid title track to the jittery "We Know" and "HNYCNT," the songs herein share a sweeping sense of space and euphoria that are the hallmark of Materielle.
